Water World

The ’ROVAI’ is simple to install, operate and maintain and has been designed to fit on hand dug wells and drilled wells – one design fits both. Flow rates are typically around 8-10 gallons at 15-20 feet deep,

ROVAI is Khmer for “turning something by hand”. All materials used for the ROVAI pumps can be found in Cambodian markets so this makes spare parts problems a thing of the past.

All pumps come with an operation and maintenance manual (Khmer language) which contains numerous step by step line drawings making it easy to follow.

In addition, Water for Cambodia’s project manager is on site to give guidance, However, it is imperative that the homeowners can install, troubleshoot and repair the pump.

If the pump should fail the homeowner can slide half of the well cover over and retrieve water with a bucket. With many of the more sophisticated pumps if they break there is no access to the well. The repair parts are often expensive and hard to get.

Keep it Simple!

After picking up the concrete rings from “Water for Cambodia”, digging the 27’ deep well by hand and sealing it from the inside the pump is installed.

The cover is laid in place. If something happens to the pump the cover can be removed, and water bailed with a bucket

It works! Fresh clean water for the first time. No more trips to the distant river and ponds for a bucket of muddy water.
