It has been three and a half years since we last visited Cambodia. We are still dedicated to a Holistic solution to WASH and we are working with other NGOs to achieve our goals.
Working with Water for Cambodia (WFC)we have :
– met with the Village Chief and have secured his whole hearted support
-over 80 Villagers have already asked for a BioSand Filter (BSF). After our community workshops and the general buzz of activity our inventory of 140 (BSF) will be long gone. There are 290 hoseholds in the village
-conducted two educational workshops for community members (at least two more to go). This has proven challenging due to the harvesting of rice.
-distribution of about 50 BioSand Filters
-about 20 home installation and orientation visits complete
-Outreach program for two days with Hong Kong school students in which they actually participated in the construction and installation of BioSand Filters.
I did make a mistake this year scheduling our village activity during the rice harvest. A lesson learned! Fortunately WFC staff are very clever at improvising
