In 2018 Getting Water Right rewarded the cooperation of the students in hygiene classes by building soccer fields at two schools…. Kandal and Romeat. The Rotary Club of Bath donated the funds.
Just a few hundred dollars has changed the children’s lives. They now have 3 school teams and they play regularly. This is not the norm in remote villages. The kids are ecstatic!
One of their teams advanced to second place in last year’s provincial under 12 championship. This is really a big deal for the village kids and their families…. beating the big city teams. Imagine the pride and joy.
Next weekend they will travel to Siem Reap in farm trailers hauled by tractors 6-7 hours one way to compete.
We will be there!
